Miss Megan Loughran

Miss Megan began dancing at the age of 3 and assisting at the age of 14 at local dance studios in Danbury.  She studied tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, ballet and pointe. Growing up, she participated in many conventions, workshops and competitions throughout the tri-state area while also taking classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in NYC.  Megan received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education both from Western Connecticut State University. While in college, she taught dance classes for New Fairfield Parks and Recreation and was a 3 year captain of the Westconn Dance Team.

Megan continued to teach dance after college and has received many choreography and judging awards including 1st overall Large Teen group, 1st overall Junior duet/trio, 1st overall Teen duet/trio and many more. Her strength is in choreographing entertaining dance routines that feature each dancer’s unique skills and talents.

She currently is in her 9th year as the Head Coach of the Dance Team and as the University Club Sports Coordinator at WCSU. Megan choreographs for all of the team’s performances at games, events and competitions including the Universal Dance Association College Nationals held in Orlando, Florida. She is currently First Aid & CPA trained, USA Cheer safety and risk management certified and is an National Dance Coach Association Certified Judge.
